    Description

    A 19th century African Congo, Mangbetu tribe early form sickle sword, 12 inch double edged blade, (corroded) with the usual holes and extensions associated with this weapon, the hilt carved as a female figure showing the typical hairstyle, see attached photo. Overall 21½ inches.
    With the Prince's collection mark, "H" under a crown

    at the Gammel Holtgaard art museum in Holte for 3 months in 2009 and
    was then returned
    to their place in the royal couple's private apartments at Fredensborg Palace.
