    Old African Leather Trimmed Lidded Basket - WEST AFRICA - Early 20th Century
    Old and antique lidded leather trimmed basket from West Africa. Missionary collected in the 1950's.   Lid of basket is attached with a leather strip.  Nice patina from handling. Interesting painted black triangular design around rim of basket. Basket is intact, but shows lots of tribal use and wear.
    Please examine photographs carefully for condition.
    Purchased years ago at auction, part of my personal collection that I am selling to downsize.  Collected by a Missionary in the 1950's. Not a tourist object.
